Waves are good, you drive up to the North Shore and hop in the water with your best mates or run into an old friend you haven't seen in months! These are the best sessions and you get out of the water slappin’ 5’s, dry off and toss your boards back in the car as the sad moment of goodbye’s start to set in before your long drive home for the night… THIS MOMENT is for Kahuku Beer Garden.

There’s nothing better than an after surf beer/beverage with buds to recount that session, past sessions, life updates and more over a tilt of hoppy bubbles across the tongue & a slight trim of foam on the stache. At Kahuku Beer Garden, braddah Steve behind the bar is not only your guy, but usually the only guy working the joint. Be weary asking him for beer recs cause he’s one of those ‘everything on the menu is good’ kind of beertenders and you could very well buy a strange beer you thought he recommended but he really just smiled, waved & poured away.
As for the draft beer menu? Short, sweet, simple locally brewed in all the styles. They got light ones, dark ones, blonde ones, strong ones (yes I’m still talking about beer) and more. If the tap ain't scratching your itch, turn 90 degrees to the right for the fridge of cold beverages in cans & bottles, plus options for the alcohol-free adults & kiddos you brought along.
As a kailua boy who often makes the trek up the beautiful east side of Oahu in search of waves up North, there hasn’t always been much else to do once the sun goes down on the way home, so a mid-way stop with friends at the beer garden was that answers to our prayers.

Don’t want a beer? No worries, you got all the food truck options & more to capitalize on. Deathly shellfish allergy here so I’ll pass on the infamous Giovanni’s or other shrimp trucks around but no envy on my end, find me at Seven Brothers next door with the best damn fries + special sauce you’ve ever tasted & a burger that’ll hit the spot (PRO TIP: the Paniolo Burger with onion rings INSIDE the burger will rock your world)
